Cosmetology (Full Occupational Overview)
A cosmetologist is taught the requirements of the State of California needed to become a licensed professional. A student will also understand all sanitation practices and disinfecting techniques required by Bureau of Barbering and Cosmetology.
A Student will also be instructed in basic salon business management skills and be able to run their own business. A Cosmetologist can provide beauty services which include but are not limited to:
- Shampooing
- Hair Cutting
- Permanent Waving
- Artificial Nails
- Ethnic Styling
- Facial Services
- Nail Care
- Hair Coloring
- ( A Minimum of 1600 classroom hours & clinic hours are required)
Manicurist (Full Occupational Overview)
You will be taught beautification methods and techniques for the nails of the hands and feet. A manicurist can provide beauty services, which include but are not limited to:
- Manicuring
- Artificial Nail Application
- Pedicuring
- (A minimum of 400 classroom & clinical hours is required)
Cosmetician (Occupational Overview )
A Cosmetician specializes in skin care. A Cosmetician provides preventative care and maintenance for the skin and can offer treatments to keep skin healthy and attractive.
- Facial Waxing
- Make-Up Application
- Facial Skin Care
- ( A Minimum of 600 classroom & clinic hours required )
Instructor Training (Occupational Overview )
The instructor training course is designed to develop occupational experience and personal characteristics that will provide beneficial in the cosmetology profession. The Instructor Training coursed focuses on:
- Supervising
- Organization and training techniques
- Performance Evaluation
- Lesson Planning
- Communication skills.
